I love finding things that are quick and easy I can do for my kids. This has to be THE easiest DIY ever. Since it has been so long since I've made these crayons I took this as the time to practice. When I was younger and melted my crayons down I usually didn't like how they came out. There was always too much brown. I realize now that I was using too many of certain colors and they didn't go well together. So what I did was only put together colors that looked good together and I really liked the outcome. The only thing I'll do different is use candy molds.
1. I collected all the broken crayons. This wasn't hard at all but I seriously disliked peeling them.
2. I broke all the crayons into smaller pieces.
3. I arranged the pieces by colors in a non stick pan. Then placed them in the oven at 350 degrees.
4. This is what they looked like out the oven. Next they went in the fridge to solidify.
5. Here is the finished product. I just like to look at them LOL. I'm definitely going to buy some candy molds for next time.
Let me know if you've done this and how it came out. I'd love to see all the different shapes everyone comes up with.
