Thoughts on marriage

I’m a mom, a stay at home mom at that but most likely you’ll catch me with a full face of make up on some days… ok a lot of days. I love looking nice for my husband when he comes home from work. Call me old fashioned but I blame it on I love Lucy and all of the beautiful moms from their era.

I also like to be wearing something other than sweat pants and a ratty old t-shirt. That’s just not me. I know my husband doesn’t care how I look when he gets home (or so he says) but I care. When we first met I was always dressed nice. Mostly because he came over after I got off of work and I’d still be in my work clothes.

It doesn’t help me much either that I was also modeling at the time he met me. So I feel I still have to be somewhat that girl. It may sound a bit cliché but how you got him/her is the same way you keep him/her.

I say all this to say Friday April 25th is our 5-year wedding anniversary. While we haven’t been married for a really long time I still like to do things to keep his interest. You definitely don’t want things to get boring. I notice the little things he does for me as well. Like buying me my favorite coffee creamer because he noticed I’m running low, wearing the shirt I think he looks SO amazing in or taking me to go race sports cars like he did 2 weekends ago.

I believe when it comes to love and marriage it’s the little things that count.
