Being a mom is a full time job. It’s not the easiest thing in the world and the pay really sucks but it is rewarding. Today I’m doing the Reality of Being a Mom tag. I figure after having 7 kids I may be able to ad some insight into motherhood.
1) What's the hardest thing about being a Mom?
I could name several things that make being a mom hard but one thing that I find especially hard is not having all of the answers. With each kid new situations arise that I don’t know how to handle or I just don’t feel that I am fully equipped to fix. I can’t cure them when they’re sick and I can’t heal a hear break. I can only be there for them when they need a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to I can give them their medicine and wipe their noses. If I could carry all of their burdens for them I would.
2) What's the most unexpected thing about being a Mom?
I never knew how fun kids actually could be. The older they get the more fun they are. Being a stay at home mom I spend practically all of my time with my kids. We do everything together. Even my teenagers who I expected to want to be with their friends all of the time and be “too cool” for mom are always asking me to go places or do something with them. Dare I say it… I actually think they think I’m their friend.
3) What do you love most about being a Mom?
There are 7 little people that love me unconditionally. No matter how mad I get or how many times I screw up as a mom (lets face it, I’m only human I’m not perfect) they still love me the same. They accept me for who I am and the love they have for me is genuine, unconditional and I don’t have to go out of my way for it.
4) What, if anything would you change?
I would have waited until I was older and financially ready to start having kids and NOT be a teenage mom. Granted things have worked out for the best but if I was more responsible as a teenager I could have avoided a lot of hard times.
5) What words of wisdom do you have for other Mom's?
Enjoy your kids because they grow up so fast but also be sure to take time out for yourself. Even the best moms need a break.
